The district teaching garden is not only for plants, it is also home to many small and large animals. They bring the garden to life, help the plants, and make sure that everything works well together.

Here is what you can experience:

  1. Small explorers at work
Look closely. Under leaves, between flowers, beneath stones, or in the soil, there are many small animals to discover, such as beetles, ladybirds, ants, earthworms, or spiders. Some are tiny, others a bit larger, but all of them are part of the garden.
  2. Observe animals in the water
In the small pond or along the stream, you can find frogs, tadpoles, water striders, and dragonfly larvae. You can watch them quietly without disturbing them. Who will spot them first?
  3. Birds and their nests
There are also many inhabitants in the trees and bushes. Birds can be heard chirping or seen searching for food. You might even spot a nest or hear the soft calls of young birds.
  4. How plants and animals work together
Animals support plants in many different ways:
Bees and butterflies pollinate flowers so that new seeds can form.
Earthworms loosen the soil so plants can grow better.
Birds eat small pests, helping to keep leaves healthy.
  5. Discover hiding places and habitats
Every animal has its favorite place. Some live in the soil, others in the water or in trees. You can act like a little detective and find out who lives where, always observing carefully.
  6. Discover with all your senses
Listen to the buzzing of bees, the chirping of birds, and the rustling of leaves. Watch how animals move and feel the soil or moss with your hands. This allows you to experience nature in a very special way.

Goal of the station:
You learn that the garden is much more than just plants. It is a living place where animals live, work, and play. You discover how plants and animals are connected, uncover the small secrets of nature, and practice observing carefully and respectfully. This turns the garden into a true nature adventure.
